Mayana Chocolate is the brainchild of an incredible husband and wife duo - Daniel and Tamara. A world-class chef and chocolatier, Daniel Herskovic crafts the most incredible chocolates and candy bars inside their Spooner, WI headquarters.

 

Mayana Chocolates can be found on retail shelves across the globe, from small mom-and-pop boutiques to behemoth retailers like Whole Foods.

A hidden brand

Anyone who knows this rock star couple knows what they, and by extension, their Mayana Chocolate brand, stands for. They live and breathe inclusivity, acceptance and above all else, love for their fellow humankind. Although humble in other aspects of life, they know they make some of the best chocolates and candy bars in the world.

Since their product was a home run already, they turned their sights on their marketing - working with another graphic designer to elevate their packaging design. The end result was something the duo was incredibly proud of - sophisticated, yet bold packaging reflected the flavors they worked tirelessly to produce.

So with new (gorgeous) packaging, it was time to set their sites on the next phases of their journey - their website and social media presence.

The Path Forward

Having worked with Tamara in the past on another business she owns in Spooner (The Chocolate Studio), she was already familiar with the North of Eight Design & Marketing team and our style and offerings.

A new website design was at the forefront of their needs list, but they also decided to move forward with our team for both product photography and social media management.

We helped Mayana Chocolate move to the Shopify eCommerce platform. Literally BUILT for eCommerce, Shopify is North of Eight Design & Marketing's preferred online store CMS.

After spending a few hours discussing their website goals, both revenue-wise and experience-related, we identified the perfect Shopify template that we were then able to customize even further for them.

We spent multiple days on-site at their factory taking video and photos to help tell the Mayana Chocolate store. The cover video (shot by our favorite gal Kassie) was filmed and edited to show the hand-crafted nature of their chocolates and candy bars. Product photography showcases the delicious bars and beautiful packaging.

Managing Mayana Chocolate's social media has been such a fun and unique opportunity! (I mean how many folks can say they get to frequently visit a chocolate factory and then write about it?!)

Daniel and Tamara reached out to us in hopes of finding somebody that could embody the voice of Mayana Chocolate, in a fun yet strategic manner. We have been tasked with creating engaging content and custom graphics that truly reflect their brand identity all while promoting their brand new website and kick-*** chocolate products.

Pimping out chocolate bars is what we do. Mayana Chocolate's digital advertising is our newest endeavor, and boy has it been a fun one. Through highly targeted Facebook and Instagram ads, we are beginning to create a series of retargeting campaigns to direct more folks to shop online. The main goal of these campaigns is to make the buying process as easy as possible for shoppers.

Photography at a chocolate factory? Count us in. We are seriously living the dream with this client.
